Certificates in the Hope Approach

A certificate in the Hope Approach is a sign of having demonstrated expertise in the Hope Approach to couples counseling. 

There are 3 types of certificates available in the Hope Approach to Couples Counseling.  Click on the one that is appropriate for you.

1.  Student Certificate in Hope Couples Counseling*:  For graduate students in the mental health disciplines or divinity school/school of theology.  A copy of a current student identification and transcript or documentation of enrollment in a mental health or divinity/theology program is required.

2.  Pastoral Certificate in Hope Couples Counseling*:  For ordained ministers or chaplains.  A copy of ordination certificate and religious education in counseling (e.g., Divinity school or Bible College classes in counseling) is required.

3.  Professional Certificate in Hope Couples Counseling*:  For licensed mental health providers (e.g., psychologist, psychiatrist, social work, counseling).  A copy of license is required.  

* These certificates demonstrate completion of continuing education and course completion.  It is not a professional license, is not recognized by any state, and does not guarantee that the recipient is able to independently practice couples counseling.  It is intended as a demonstration of adjunctive training specific to the Hope approach beyond general graduate training in a mental health discipline or pastoral care.
